Desert Racing VR Game. AdverGame.


We created a VR video game for El Portal Shopping Center. Shoppers were able to enjoy an immersive VR experience, getting behind the wheel of a 4×4 vehicle and driving through the dunes of Qatar. The points accumulated could be exchanged for instant prizes.


On the occasion of the Qatar 2022 World Cup, an interactive VR activity was developed for El Portal Shopping Center. In this advergame, mall visitors could take control of a 4×4 vehicle and drive it through an obstacle course set in the desert of Qatar.

Dunas de Qatar is an application specially optimized for Oculus Quest 2 virtual reality glasses, making the most of the ability to track hand movement and gestures. In this way, no additional controls were required, making the driving experience simpler and more intuitive.

The objective of the game was to complete the track in a certain time and collect as many points as possible.

The points were represented by soccer balls with the sponsor’s logo, and their value varied depending on the color of the ball.

In addition to developing the video game software, the physical space where the activation would take place was also designed and conditioned. Four game stations were installed with their respective virtual reality glasses, personalized with the mall’s brand. In addition, the stand had screens that showed the gameplay to visitors.
